ISRM FITNESS MANAGEMENT distance learning course

Reference: FM

This qualification will give you a head start into management of a leisure facility, by giving you the theoretical knowledge that underpins what the job entails.

ISRM Fitness Management

Many management positions in the Fitness Industry lack the qualifications to back up operational practice. Fitness Management is one of them.

It can take luck and knowing the right people to get a Fitness Manager job and is usually based on experience.

This qualification will give you a head start into management of a leisure facility, by giving you the theoretical knowledge that underpins what the job entails. You'll cover:

Unit 1 – Client Retention in Health and Fitness Facilities
Unit 2 – Design and Technical of Health and Fitness Facilities
Unit 3 – Operations and Management of Health and Fitness Facilities

An employer will look at this favourably. However, I would say that you should still have some experience in fitness, either as admin, or gym floor, personal trainer etc.

It's a distance learning course, so you'll study at your own pace from the study pack. We will support you throughout this time, to help you achieve a pass grade.

Health and Fitness organisations will need to train their staff to an agreed nationally recognised standard with a particular desire to improve both the current industry knowledge of staff and the service they are able to offer their customers.
This course will suit Individuals currently undertaking the supervisory role in a health club environment who would like to have their knowledge and experience recognised by a formal qualification.

Individuals who are aspiring to supervisory management roles in health and fitness facilities and services, who need to extend their knowledge and develop the relevant skills will benefit greatly from this course.

The ISRM Fitness Management Certificate leads to the Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Fitness Management.

The qualification aims to bridge the gap in the training of both fitness suite staff (whose background is usually associated with training in the field of exercise and fitness) and with leisure centre and health club managers/ duty managers, whose background is in general facility
management.

You will be provided with an overview of how a health and fitness facility is managed from the design and technical considerations, operations and management, marketing and member retention. You will study the following modules:

Unit 1 – Client Retention in Health and Fitness Facilities
Unit 2 – Design and Technical of Health and Fitness Facilities
Unit 3 – Operations and Management of Health and Fitness Facilities.
