Community Sports Project Officer

    The successful candidate will target and engage MHT residents in core areas to expand development of MHT’s sports involvement programme. Supports monitoring and evaluation of current activity. Liaises with sporting organisations and other stakeholders and maximises partnership opportunities.

    The individual will ensure a number of people are engaged and needs assessed and ensure that a number of people regularly involved in sport and healthy living initiatives. You will ensure monitoring and risk management systems are in place and working and evaluation of projects is undertaken with reports produced. You will fully understand the residents’ needs and priorities and community leaders will be identified, developed and nurtured. You will make sure external funding is obtained to leverage MHT’s investment and you will establish partnerships with other agencies and RSLs and maintained your relationship where necessary. You will also ensure appropriate assistance and training is delivered.

    It is essential you have relevant experience of working with diverse groups to support implementation of a range of projects and organise small scale events and have experience monitoring and evaluating projects. You will have an up to date knowledge of the sport and leisure industry, including qualifications and job roles and knowledge of good practice in delivering community projects, particularly risk management. A relevant level 3 qualification is desirable (eg NVQ Coaching, leadership, Youth work, Advice and Guidance) and you will have excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office packages Word and Excel.
