Greenhouse provides sport and performing arts for young people in state secondary schools and community clubs in deprived areas. We target young people who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities, enabling them to develop positive life skills. Joining a team of 6 other full time Head Basketball coaches based at schools in West & South London, this exciting new role will be based at South East London.
You will be working in conjunction with the Senior Head Coach at a school to develop the basketball programme. Based full time in the school, you will be both a role model and mentor to pupils. You will plan, manage and deliver a fully inclusive programme of Basketball coaching to year 7’s & 8’s, build and develop the girls programme and work closely with key feeler primary schools developing the year 6’s. Predominantly you will establish breakfast, lunch time, after school and weekend clubs and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players. You will establish and manage teams that play in the Greenhouse League during term time and during school holidays you will link up with the team of other Greenhouse Basketball coaches to deliver Greenhouse camps. You will also be expected to establish new partnerships with local clubs where players can enter into community club pathways in line with the England Basketball Player Pathway.
