Head of Community and Cricket Operations

    • Title: Head of Community and Cricket Operations
    • Type: Managerial
    • Employer: Essex Cricket

Essex County Cricket Board is the governing body for recreational cricket in the county. Working very closely with the Essex County Cricket Club and the newly formed Essex Cricket and Community Trust, the family of “Essex Cricket “embraces all aspects of the games development from grass roots, through to entry into the professional Academy and First Class Cricket.

This activity is primarily funded by the ECB (the governing body for cricket in England and Wales) and is further supported by charitable activities and fundraising through the Trust and other partners.

As part of a restructure we are looking to appoint a new Head of Community and Cricket Operations. This challenging strategic role will primarily involve leading a team of experienced cricket development professionals and ensuring that the targets and outcomes set internally and by the ECB and other agencies are achieved.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Sport Development Manager with a clear understanding of the local and national sporting landscape and the organisations involved in its delivery. He or she will be comfortable running a complex business, and at ease in forming and nurturing strategic partnerships in the voluntary, local government and commercial sectors.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive there will be a considerable amount of autonomy with this role, and a self starting and creative approach will be required. In addition there will be further management responsibilities for elements of the professional support team, which will involve developing a close working relationship with the coaching, administrative and medical
    personnel at the Club.

Special Instructions: If you are interested in this exciting and demanding role please send your CV together with a covering letter detailing why you think you are suitable for this position to louise.barclay@essexcricket.org.uk, giving details of your current or most recent remuneration.

The closing date for applications is Friday 27th January. It is expected that interviews will be held on 2nd and 3rd February.

    Closing Date: 27.01.2012
