The England Handball Association is the national governing body for handball in England and is responsible for grassroots development of the sport. The EHA deliver a successful coach education programme nationally, including leadership courses, teacher training courses and level 1 and level 2 certificates in coaching handball. As the sport has seen a 600% growth in participants over the last period, England Handball are looking to grow its tutor workforce to respond to this demand for coaches at all levels.
In 2012 the EHA developed a level 1 certificate in coaching wheelchair handball with a desire to grow the game. As a result, the EHA are looking to recruit tutors with experience of delivering courses to this audience. No handball experience is necessary (training to be provided) however a tutoring qualification (E.g. PTLLS) and current involvement in wheelchair sport (E.g. Wheelchair basketball). The candidate should also have a UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification in a related sport. Competency in delivering wheelchair skills to learner coaches is essential.
The successful candidate/s will be required to attend an EHA tutor orientation day over the summer before delivering courses.
