An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, innovative and quality sports coach to join our successful Active Kingston Team, to deliver our Community Sports Coaching Scheme.
The scheme is directed through a unique partnership with the Royal Borough of Kingston, Kingston College and local sports clubs. The aim of the scheme is to deliver quality sports coaching programmes to children and young people in Kingston upon Thames for a fixed term of 18 months, but subject to a further year if external funding can be secured.
You will need to have experience of planning and delivering a range of high quality physical activity and sports coaching sessions, particularly for disabled children and young people. Duties will include coordinating coaching programmes and developing school/club links to deliver a structured programme of activities for schools and the community.
A minimum of one NGB Level 1 qualification is essential but Level 2 desirable. Ideally other qualifications in a variety of sports would also be an advantage and proven experience in coaching including working with children and young people with a range of disabilities.
The successful candidate should also hold a recognised First Aid Certificate and have membership to a National Governing Body of Sport.
This post involves contact with children and therefore a Disclosure will need to be obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.
