Central London boroughs celebrate the excitement of the Games!

With the Olympic Games only a matter of days away now, London is gearing up to what will be the summer of all summers as far as sport & physical activity, culture and arts is concerned. Each of the London boroughs has a series of events to mark the Games, giving local people the opportunity to try out and find out about local sport & physical activity opportunities – from torch events, to community events and festivals.

Below are just some of the exciting events that are taking place across the seven central London boroughs over the coming months…

Islington 26/07/2 Highbury Fields A participation festival to celebrate the Torch passing through the borough. 
Lambeth 02/08/12 Clapham Common A range of sport & physical activities for you to get involved in, along with cultural & art themes. 
Southwark 21/07/12 Burgess Park A fun day to celebrate the re-opening of the park including many activities for people to take part in. 
Westminster 24/07/12 Paddington Recreation Ground Showtime2012 Festival
 Westminster 28/07/12 Paddington Recreation Ground Inflatable Stonehenge
 Westminster 28/07/12 Queens Park Queens Park Festival and mini Olympics
 Wandsworth 23/07/12  Tooting Bec Common  Evening celebration of the Torch coming through the borough. 
 Camden 09/09/12  Parliament Hill  Gi It A Go Festival - a participation festival linked to mark the end of the Paralympics.  
Kensington & Chelsea  26/07/12 Holland Park  Celebration of the Torch coming through the borough.
