27th March 2009 - Lords Cricket Ground
A number of local sports people were honoured at the PRO-ACTIVE London Awards for Sport & Physical Activity on Friday 27th March 2009. The awards held at the prestigious Lords Cricket ground were for the people who tirelessly work in community sport, providing opportunities for everyone to take part regardless of age or ability. Whether it is a volunteer turning up week in week out to provide coaching opportunities for young people at their local sports club; a coach who provides opportunities in the local community or a sports club or organisation as a whole, the awards recognised and rewarded people's commitment to sport and physical activity over the last year. These awards are the only awards that celebrate community sport on a London scale.
